Prepare Your Child for Their Visit
We want your child's visit with us to be as easy as possible. Here are some things that you can do before your child's appointment.
Practice at home! Pretend that you are at the dentist's office and have your child open wide while you examine your child's teeth. Also, assist your child in brushing and flossing at home. See the oral health page for the proper technique.
Always be honest! Being truthful when explaining dental procedures can help alleviate your child's apprehension. Use positive terms. For example, we call a shot a "pinch", we take "pictures" instead of x-rays, and when we fix cavities we use "Mr. Whistle" to wash out the "sugar bugs!"
Children are excellent observers! If you are nervous, your child will be anxious as well. We will make your child's experience as pleasant as possible.
Save some time! Print out the forms below, fill both forms out for each child, and bring them with you to your appointment.
